2019 Appalachian Trail Service Project

2019 Appalachian Trail Service Project

The Appalachian Trail Service Day is tomorrow, and the weather is looking great !!!

Our goal was to provide at least 15 people to help. Since the lodge made the commitment, we feel strongly that we should stick to it. We will scale the work being done to as many people as we get out to help. We are hoping you simply forgot to sign up and are planning to come out to help.  You must register at: http://www.hmc-bsa.org/Event.aspx?id=4310

We will meet at the Welcome Center at HMSR at 8AM. We should arrive on-site in Arrow Estates just below Hertlein Campsite by 9AM, work for six hours, and head back to HMSR at about 4PM. Bring lunch , beverages, gloves, and safety goggles if you have them.  If we finish early, we can always find a project to do at camp until 4 🙂

Please bring crow bars, pry bars, shovels and buckets (pails), hacksaws with additional blades, battery powered drills with half inch bits, and battery powered saws, as there will be rebar to cut. If you don’t have tools, bring yourself, a friendly spirit and a strong body. Bring a Med Form A-B with you. We will be really tight on parking space so everyone needs to come prepared to carpool.

We hope to see you there!
