Thank you from the Blue Mountain Eagle Climbing Club
On April 1, 2017, several members of the Lodge performed some much needed trail maintenance on the Applachian Trail near Pipefitters’ Field in Swatara Gap. Here is a link and excerpt of the thank you message from the Blue Mountain Eagle Climbing Club.
Our thanks to the Scout youth and adults of the Kittatinny Lodge, Order of the Arrow, a service arm of the Hawk Mountain Council, BSA, located in Reading, PA, and serving parts of Berks, Schuylkill, and Carbon Counties. They moved downed trees from the border of the AT corridor through Pipefitters’ Field in Swatara Gap, achieving two objectives of the BMECC: keeping the only open field between the Susquehanna and Delaware Rivers “open” and creating a barrier to the intrusion of ATV’s onto the trail corridor. They also cleaned and rebuilt water bars and swales in Pipefitters’ Field. Great job, guys!

Thanks again to all the Kittatinny Arrowmen who came out for a day of cheerful service.
